At Il Villino degli Aranci, we have always been deeply concerned about issues such as climate change and environmental pollution. For this reason, we encourage our guests to adopt an eco-friendly approach like ours, by limiting the use of plastic, running water, and electricity.
Here are some practical tips for an eco-sustainable stay:
Use a reusable water bottle and refillable glass bottles
By bringing a reusable water bottle with you, you’ll not only stay hydrated but also avoid buying single-use plastic bottles that will further pollute the planet. The L’Isola Verde Frutteria grocery store delivers returnable glass water crates to your door. If you’re eating out, always ask for water in glass bottles.
Give your car a rest!
Il Villino is just steps away from the sea and the town center. Leave your car in the free parking space at your disposal and walk, walk, walk! You could also rent a bicycle to explore Sperlonga and its beaches along the numerous cycling paths available.
Recycle as much as possible according to local rules
You will find the household waste collection calendar inside the apartment. We invite you to follow the instructions provided to avoid mistakes and recycle correctly to help protect the environment. If you have any doubts, don’t hesitate to ask for information: we’ll be happy to help!
Take advantage of the existing solar panel system
The Villino’s roof has been equipped with a photovoltaic panel system that provides clean and renewable energy to the property. To optimize its use and reduce environmental impact, we recommend using appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers during daylight hours, when solar energy production is at its peak.
Leave no trace of your visit
If you’re at the beach or in the middle of a hike, take care to leave everything as you found it. Common sense should tell us that throwing cigarette butts, paper tissues, chewing gum, receipts, etc. on the ground are uncivilized behaviors that have serious repercussions on the environment and the local economy. A cleaner world is a better world for everyone!
Choose local, zero-mile products
Even a small thing like buying and consuming local products, preferably seasonal ones, can be very helpful. Choosing zero food miles products not only reduces transport-related pollution but also supports local producers and guarantees more genuine and fresh flavors.
Support local artisans
When looking for gifts to bring to your friends, it’s better to choose local artisans and their products: this way you’ll support both the town you’re visiting and the environment. A tip? Visit the small atelier where Giulia Cacace (@giulia_ceramiche_sperlonga) sells her beautiful ceramics, you won’t regret it!
